A recent article I read stated that by 2020, half of the tv’s in U.S. homes will be 4k. 2020 may seem like a long way off but it takes time for new technology trends to catch on with the general public. TV’s aren’t like other technology such as smartphones and tablets where one might replace them every other year or so. Many people keep their tv until it is outdated or until it just dies.
YouTuber Lessons from the Screenplay gives another excellent film study, this time on how filmmakers control the information given to an audience. Using the 2015 science-fiction thriller Ex Machina, he describes how a great film lets the audience take part in the story, thus further engaging them in the film. If you haven’t subscribed to this guy, please do, because he is fantastic.

The newest Marvel installation aims to show us the more mystical side of the MCU in this psychedelic action flick, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the title character. While this is definitely one of the most inventive of the universe, it still suffers from a few of the same snags that have plagued almost every Marvel film.
